What is LocalBusiness JSON-LD?
LocalBusiness is a schema.org type for describing a business with a physical location. JSON-LD is a format for writing those details as data. It can describe the business name, location, phone, website, and opening hours without changing the visible page layout.
The data should represent your actual business. Use an appropriate, specific business type where one exists. A business without a public physical location should review the applicable type and search feature requirements with its webmaster rather than invent an address.
Structured data does not replace readable text or ensure a rich result. Google’s requirements depend on the feature and business type; syntactically valid JSON alone is not enough. It also does not guarantee that an AI system will cite your business.
Check the page before adding code
- Confirm the business name, website address, phone, location, and any opening hours with the owner.
- Make those same facts visible on the relevant page. Resolve conflicting contact or hours information first.
- Check existing markup from your website theme or SEO plugin so you can update one consistent record.
- Leave out unverified reviews, ratings, prices, awards, qualifications, and service claims.
If information changes, update both the visible content and the matching structured data. Do not use markup to publish details that customers cannot find on the page.
An illustrative draft
This is fictional example data for explaining the format. Every business detail must be replaced and made visible on your page before use. It is not a complete template for every business or Google search feature.

Install and validate the reviewed draft
Ask your webmaster where structured data is managed. Add or update the block on the page that describes the business. Avoid pasting it into multiple plugins that produce conflicting business records.
Use Google’s Rich Results Test to check supported features and the Schema Markup Validator to inspect schema.org markup. Read any errors and required-field guidance. Then view the published page and confirm that its name, phone, address, and hours still match the code.
Passing a validator does not verify your business facts or guarantee display in search. Search Console can help inspect how Google receives a published URL; access and indexing remain separate checks.
Use the draft as a review task
AI1GEO can prepare a JSON-LD draft, a visible fact block, and install notes. Review them together. The example report shows sample output, and the methodology explains the check limits. For the wider workflow, read the local business search checklist or check your website.
